A scary thing happened to me the other day. I was getting up from my chair about an hour after I had lunch. I had my feet up on the desk for most of that hour. When I stood up I began to feel incredible dizzy and felt like I was about to fall to my left. I composed myself and hurried to the staff bathroom. I splashed cold water on my face and felt a little better.

I then drove home and cajoled my son into napping so I could nap too. I woke up and was fine the rest of the night. One thing that was going through my mind during all this was OMG I am having a heart attack! I felt like Fred Sanford and knew this was the big one. But how could it be? I was in great health, lost 50 pounds and all my vitals were awesome! Why me?

After discussing with my doctor the next day, he decided it was a massive head rush due to having my feet up after I ate for so long. I was fine. This has led me to find a two point oh way to keep track of everything. After seeing a blood pressure monitor at Target today that connects to the iPad I was sold. I did however wait to come home and pick it up on Amazon. I will do a review soon but it looks awesome. Here is the link to the Withings BP800 Monitor.

I plan on doing a daily track of it and it will coordinate with an app that will keep all the info. I can then send it to my doctor for evaluation. I love it! More soon!

As you may know I teach high school media arts and animation. MY students are awesome kids. This holiday I received a gift from one of my favorites and it was for Amazon.com. Rather than buy something I didnt really need right now I decided to take the classroom video capabilies to the next level. Since we have an awesome hd projector and sound system why not get a BluRay player to update the 1999 dvd player in there. It served its purpose well. Time to go to the cornfield.

I picked up a Samsung BD-D5700 Blu-ray Disc Player (Black) with WIFI so that we could also stream Netflix and also I can insert USB devices so students can quickly show off their latest works of art.

These students dont know how lucky the are to be born when they were. All I had was pong…

While there are many things filling my calendar this year, nothing peaks my interest more than seeing The Hobbit. I loved the books as a child. I remember day dreaming about being in that world and that lead me to playing dungeons and dragons. We played with pencil and paper and it was an amazing time in my life! I would play and swim all day in the summer with my friends. Life was simple. Kill orcs, gather loot, take a break and swim. Ahh to be young once more…
